Do you want to enjoy the gifts of God’s presence?
We all long for God’s presence, we all need it. Sometimes it is tangible and we „feel” it, sometimes we don’t feel anything but we know He is with us, as He promised.
His presence is awesome, loving, glorious, and mysterious. Being in God’s presence is the highest good we can experience and the greatest blessing.
However, there are specific gifts and blessings related to God’s presence. Let’s explore together the gifts of God’s presence, based on Psalm 16.
Here are 5 gifts of God's presence based on Psalm 16. #Biblestudy #encouragement #blessings Share on X5 Gifts of God’s Presence
Psalm 16 is one of my favorite psalms because it expresses so well how I feel and think about God. Woven in this psalm, we can find several specific gifts that stem from God’s presence in our lives.
We receive these gifts when we make God and our relationship with Him, our highest priority and number one, as the psalmist declares:
I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.” (Psalm 16:2)
All good things in our lives come from the Lord. All our good is hidden in Him. He is the source of all our blessings.
Here are 5 specific gifts of God’s presence revealed in Psalm 16.

#1 The Gift of God’s Protection
The first gift of God’s presence in our lives is the gift of God’s protection. The psalm starts with a request for protection.
“Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge.” (Psalm 16:1)
God’s presence means safety, security, a safe place, and a refuge. This is not a physical place we are hiding ourselves in, rather it is a spiritual place, a heavenly embrace.
Picture God’s eternal arms, lovingly embracing you when you feel stressed, worried, and even paralyzed with fear. His embrace means comfort, peace, and help.
In His arms, and under His protection, we can be at peace and feel at home, fully ourselves.
God's presence brings safety and security, comfort, peace, and help. #Biblestudy #encouragement #blessings Share on X#2 The Gift of Meaning and Purpose in Life
When we start a relationship with the living God, and He enters our hearts and lives through the Holy Spirit, our lives receive an eternal focus. God and His love give us meaning and purpose.
We live our days in eternity in mind. We have a mission and a calling. Nothing is in vain, even the mundane and the suffering. God invades every moment and gives it direction and purpose.
This is one of the most precious gifts we can enjoy when we make the Lord our portion.
“Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.” (Psalm 16:5-6)
#3 The Gift of God’s Guidance
I love this gift. Every day, we are faced with a myriad of choices and decisions to make. Which way to go? Is this good for me? Which option is the better one?
It is so wonderful that we have the Lord as our guide, counselor, and instructor.
He has all the wisdom and knowledge and He knows best the plans He has for us and our lives. He can safely navigate us through every day when we heed His counsel.
“I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.” (Psalm 16:7)
#4 The Gift of Strength and Overcoming
There is another valuable gift that comes from God’s presence in our lives. This is the gift of supernatural strength that sustains us and helps us to overcome and endure hardships and suffering.
God’s presence sustains us and makes us stable and resilient so nothing can shake us. When we focus on the Lord and trust Him, He gives us the strength to stand and overcome.
“I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” (Psalm 16:8)
God's presence sustains us and makes us stable and resilient so nothing can shake us. #trustGod #encouragement #Biblestudy Share on X#5 The Gift of Peace and Eternal Joy
We all want to be happy, to experience joy and pleasure because these emotions are like oxygen to our souls. God’s presence is this eternal and never-stopping source of happiness and pleasure for us.
We can delight every moment in His presence and we have the whole eternity to feel the pleasure of Him to the fullest.
“You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” (Psalm 16:11)
And while we are still on this earth, we can be glad and our bodies also can rest secure and be at peace because He gives us eternal life. (Psalm 16:9)
